The completion of words and sentences provide the main focus for this collection. Traditional stories have also been suggested to enhance individual reading skills.
These activities revise and extend previous spelling and vocabulary exercises.
Personal classifications of words can be shared and discussed e.g. I know that a dodo is an extinct bird, but I think it is the funniest ‘d’ word I have seen. I think ‘Dracula’ is a scary word, but I do not know if there ever was a real Dracula.
The RED level has been designed for children commencing primary school. Adults are required to help with reading messages and to encourage and celebrate children’s responses. For more information about our "Rainbow" approach, click here.
