An all inclusive learning approach to the worlds of birds. These activities develop each child’s appreciation of the place and extent of birds in our environment.
A focus on birds that appear on stamps extends to learning the skills of researching using an atlas. Invite bird watchers, bird photographers and bird fanciers to become guest speakers to the group. Investigate how humans can help to support and protect local birds that are considered to be under threat.
The YELLOW level is all about maintaining firm foundations for learning, and extending and supporting individual interests. At this stage ‘I can do it!’ is often heard, so please don’t push too hard for an involvement. Step back but always retain you right to do what you think must be done. Tread carefully.
